Do testimonies really encourage you or make you feel worse?

I know there are a lot of hurting people in the world today. I know that there are also a lot of people barely getting by, and there are those who are living it up like fat cats, without a care in the world. When you hear someone got an increase on their job or got promoted or even got a new job after searching for a while, do you geniunely become rejoiceful with them or do you just seem to get more depressed, especially if you are in a pitch at the time that they share the news with you. Do you talk about them behind their back and continue to complain about your situation or do find hope and encouragement that it can happen to you as well. Let's take off our masks for a moment and be real. Thanks in advance for responding.

It usually makes me feel better. There is only once exception. Sometimes there will be a person that everyone knows is involved in something they shouldn't be doing. They say one thing, and do another. A hypocrite I guess you would say. And when I hear about something good that has happened to them, I always wonder why them and not me? But then I think about the day they will have to answer for their actions. I'd rather not have certain things and a clean conscience than to have something and pay for it later. But in general I just think, God's still working. And He has something in store for me that I will never expect. And a lot of times that has kept me going. Knowing God has something good in store for me.

I think you should always be happy for people when they tell you some good news. At the very least you must try. We are all human and it is in our nature to feel a bit jealous if someone is doing better than we are. But you must be stronger than that. Realize that it is ok to think that way. What makes the difference is how you respond to it. Being positive for others fosters a sense of community, which ultimately leads to a better life for everyone. That's the way I see it, Jay
