Especially to the people you hate. Lol! Or just for the spirit of fun, do you give people funny names then save them on your phonebook?

Hi, there was a time when I used to use every weird character to make the names of my friends, but after a while I realize that it was more difficult to reach someone's name in the phonebook if I didn't remember what character I had used.

Special characters?! That would be too difficult to remember.

well, i have some , but most my real good friends have thouse funny name like a nickname. Some of them are: "aiuritu`" , "grasu" , "Bitanu`" "Bula" , and more. I don`t have my cellphone next to me, to tell you more than thouse, but there are some in my cellphone. It`s easier when you have 5-6 with the same name, you must do something to know faster wich one you search for..

Hi. modstar. No. I have never done this before. I have either labeled them as hubby, or I had them in my contact by their first and last name.

Hello modstar! I do give funny names to people on my phonebook but not because I hate them. I remember editing my sister's name "bakekang" (a tv series here in the Philippines) because we usually tease her like that and she's always angry. I also remember putting my classmates name on my phonebook. When she found out, she laughed..hehehe

With thousands of entries in my phonebook, I have to keep track of them by giving appropriate first and last names right next to their numbers or I may get lost especially if they start calling one after the other or I have to call people with the same name. I have the tendency to forget names and numbers easily.

I don't really have bad or funny names in my phone book but my system isn't the last name location thing. I will put my father fred in the d section for dad. Or use the person's first name or how I know them. Like people from work go under s for school (where I work). Doctor under d. My partner's whole family is under H for howard's family. There was a guy I named MonkeyBoy though his name really was Donald which went under M. I also have people listed by intials too. LOL I recently got a new address book and was entering everyone in when I realized that it would be a bit of a challenge to break my code of where the people are located in the book in case of an emergency. I explained it to my daughter to make sure she could help in case, but all I got in return was that look people give me when they think I have lost my mind.

I think I've less funny registered on my PDA phone now compared to my old Nokia phone as the PDA phone allows me longer entry so I can even type in people's full names?

I don't really put in funny names on my phonebook, 'cause sometimes I forget what their first name is, hence I tend to put in their first name instead. There are but a handful that I put in my pet names in my phonebook 'cause I remember their first names without thinking about it so hard. chi. dude. BAKLA. mommy/mameeh/mami [that's three different people]. I put them on... sometimes.

Rather cute and sweet names than funny. I make these cute names only for my close people, my best friends and family members. I also have added photo for each person so when he/she calls me it shows up on the cell phones screen. Some of the photos are very funny! Makes me smile every time this person's ringing me

Yes, I do give names to people while saving their numbers but they need not be funny.I would give them names that would help me recognize the person easily. At times, I end up giving funny names because that would be the name by which most people at the college would know that person with. I believe that it is my phonebook so I am free to give whichever name I like. I do not really care whether the person would mind or not, if he found out about the name.

Haha, that's ok. There's a lesser chance for them to take a peep on your phonebook unless they're too nosy.

Yes i have to admit i am a culprate of this crime! But as funny as it seems at the time you save it you should always be careful! I was once caught out by someone ringing my phone sitting on the table in between us to see if it had reception. The name showed up stinky pete and i was so embarassed for him! His name wasn't even pete. He was just really stinky like a stinky Pete. After that though i am more cautious about how offensive my pet names are and who i let see my contacts.

No I don't. I usually write their names or nicknames on my phonebook. It can be confusing if I name them and don't remember who they are actually. Saves me the time remembering their names.
