Kaspersky missed something for me. When i have to install an av on friends pc's i choose antivir http://www.free-av.com/ I feel it faster than nod, kaspersky and avg and it's good on tons of tests on the net. For me i'm trying Comodo Antivirus, you have to got some knowledge for use it,but i feel good anyway. It's now too much heavy and it's a complete (and free) solution. Hope it helps, bye :)

I tend to stay away from security suites mainly because I find that different software companies are better at doing one thing and not another. For example, Kapersky is a very good paid anti-virus program but I trust CheckPoint's ZoneAlarm for firewall protection (not the stock Windows firewall) and a combination of AdAware and Spybot for other malware. I happen to use the free version of Avira's Antivir for my anti-virus protection. But if I were to choose one suite to do everything? Apparently, Norton has done a good job cutting down on the usage of your system resources for their 2009 Internet Security suite (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2333445,00.asp) but I'm not sure I trust them just yet. So, I would probably choose either the TrendMicro or ZoneAlarm security suites. If it's just anti-virus software you're talking about, I would choose NOD32 or Kapersky for a paid one and Avira's Antivir or Alwil's avast! (http://av-comparatives.org/seiten/ergebnisse_2008_11.php)

I use AVG v8.0 - the free version. I find it does all I want and does it quietly in the background without getting in my way or using up the power of the computer. And the price is right! haha

I have installed Norton antivirus in one system and Avest Anti virus in another system. Among the two, Norton is having better firewall control, system back up utility, network management, anti phishing, auto form filler etc. Most of the intruders are prevented by it. Avest is also found good, but it is getting updated very often, consuming CPU all the time. But we can not expect some particular anti virus software will remove all the virus. In some cases, we need to install two or three one after other and scan for virus. Even then some virus are not able to identified and leads to OS re installtion.

i have also been using Kaspersky since two or three years and i found that very effective. if you have kaspersky in your system you don't need to install any other.

I like NOD32.. I find it good in detecting viruses and spywares... It even warns me when a website is not trusted.. I also used kaspersky before, it was good too..
