Is There A Big Gap Between Bad & Good People?

As a fan of genetics and commercial psychology i have been wondering if there is a bigger gap between good and bad people today? I have observed some ex on that question. For instant if you are in a shop and somebody gets rude, people that are polite tend to be extra polite, nice people in the traffic are more eased up then good old rich rich men in their Mercedes etc. I believe in the collective psychology path. That we are connected to something collective.

Are you referring to Jungian psychology? I do support that we've a collective unconcious. I'm not sure what sort of gap you are looking at in terms of good versus bad. Do you mean income/economic gap? Social gap? Gender gap? What are the variables you are looking at? I personally don't think we've increased in bad/good people, if that is a point you are getting at. I think we just have more media coverage then we did ages ago so it seems more prevelant.

I'm thinking more about the social gap. The economical gap is far from my concern:-)

I would say that there has been a rise of gangs in America, but I'm not sure it spans in one social area. I do think we see more diversity, and perhaps there is more division, but it doesn't seem to be any wider then it was early on this country. I personally have to agree with those researchers in the field that are linking a lack of empathy, a larger amigdula as reasons why some people committ more crime then others.

Yeah, the lack of empathy is nearly connected to crime. But some people steal from the rich and gives to the poor. Some jailbirds are actually good people but operates in the wrong side of the law. I think the gap between social intelligence will be more worthy for the the both economical and the political parts in the future. Therefore it also will come handy in social parts. But there has been no difference there for centuries probably. But the economical & political benefits of emotional intelligence in the future will be more in focus then the proud stand alone academic guy/lady. In the old days the proud stand alone academic guy/lady was seen as a smarty. But i think that has changed (Then again maybe it's just my point of view).

No one is all good and no one is all bad. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes and I am sure even the worst people do some good things sometimes. And what about people who do seemingly good things for the wrong reason or seemingly bad things with good intentions. And there are plenty of rude drivers in junky old cheap cars.

Yes, we can't behave correct at all times. That would turn individual psychology upside down. But we can do our best, and if we do our best and admit our mistakes, then we have come a long way.

to a extent i agree with you but again it depends on perspective.A collective ideology of good and bad cannot be defined. The atrocity of the situation and deplorable conditions can make oneself good and even bad.Its very vague and thin line between that.Anyway what i feel is that no one is bad by his or her heart. And no one can be good or bad for each one of us simultaneously.Think about it!!!

I think the gap is the number of people, because how many GOOD people do you know? but really good?

Yeah, good question. First i believe that the gap between good/bad is what we would feel it would be. Like if your stealing from a shop are you vicious or just a poor bloke? if you do something you really want to do and drop your friends on a scheduled date are you a bad person? This includes many moral questions. After my opinion 98% of all people are good people. But i am not saying that everybody think through all they do or behave correct at all times. But i believe the most people are good.
