My friends and my cousins say, i am very much short tempered and i do crazy things when i get angry. Recently i went to a marriage ceremony of my sister and i bashed up a car driver because he bumped my bike from back in parking lot. I felt it as a normal reaction over damage to my bike but later the issue got serious. Unfortunately the car driver who bumped into my bike was no one but was a cop in civil uniform. The matter went upto serious arguments and later after too much mess, my parents sorted out the issue. After coming home back, i was been pointed out by everyone saying "you are the sole culprit of frequent problems in house" These words punched me. Can you guys help me how to tackle with this SHORT TEMPERED problem and what are the ways by which i can stay away from it.

I read your discussion and when I got to the part that says "my sister and i bashed up a car driver because he bumped my bike from back in parking lot" my first thought was "You did what?" I had to read it again because I thought I had gotten it wrong! Oh dear! You do have a temper don't you? I hope I never upset you! Look I'm not being self righteous because I can relate a little although I can't say I have ever bashed anyone. I had been feeling somewhat angry lately for me the cause was both physical and emotional and I know how hard it is to control. Everything was irritating to me and I had underlining anger all the time. Because I have a young daughter I decided to get help from the doctor who prescribed something for my physical ailments and suggested St John's Wort tablets and possibly having a chat with a counsellor or a psychologist if things didn't improve. I am pleased to say that I feel much better now but I will not hesitate to seek professional help if it happens again. It's a thought; there are people that deal with anger issues and I have seen courses in anger management too. Please do something before you act in fury and do something that cannot be undone. Take care and good luck. Good on you for being honest.
