Help with Clickbank

Hi Everyone. I am so confused wit clickbank. I am registered with clickbank through a site I joined legit online jobs. Actually for a while now and I still do not understand it. I get told I do not have to have my own website, which I do not, It tell me to go to the market place and pick a category and make a hoplink. which I get that far. My names comes up at the end of the page the hoplink created then I click on submit, after that i get noting else. Seems to me there is more to this site than just that. Can anyone help me out with understanding this site? apprecite any help. Thank you
