hi i was wondering if you are the kind of person that crosses the road when you see a dog coming along ? Or do you not do this ? I see loads of people do this. I dont do this i just walk past but if the dog is about to touch me then i move because i dont want it to touch me. So what do you do ? If you are the kind of person that moves is it because you are scared ? Or do you love dogs that you would even pat one if it was going past you.

Hi shamzy ! I will just keep walking. I will cross the street to keep away from it if there is a pack of dogs and I think there might be a problem . I also might cross the street if it looks like it could be an aggressive dog. I will not go up to strange dogs unless its a small puppy . I think its best to ask the owner if the dog can be petted , instead of just reaching out to a dog you don't know . I have 3 German Shepherds , and I have seen people bring thier small kids up to pet and play with them , not even knowing what kind of dispostion they have. It makes me crazy ! If it's a strange dog I think its better to let the dog come to you , and let him sniff you and take his time getting to know you. If the owner is there , ask first if the dog is friendly .

cool yeah if the dog looks aggressive then it is best to get out of its way. Yeah definately best to ask before you touch or there could be trouble.

I am not afraid of dogs, but i never touch a strange dog, it's an insult to them, dogs need to be introduced to you and their space respected. After all they are animals and you can never tell when something you do might cause them to react badly. Never look straight at a dog or touch it on the head these can be confrontational to the dog. Also never get your face near a strange dog. Just consider these rules of conduct around dogs. We raise Llamas and always take the time to introduce new people to them so that we have no unpleasant situations arise. It's just like visiting a new country you need to know the customs so you don't offend.

cool thanks for the tips i think i do tend to look straight at the dog though because it more of a shock to see a dog so have to be aware of it and so look straight at it. But now i will not look at it straight in the eye.
