Is anyone in here know how to edit the start up processes in a standard PC? My OS is windows vista black edition. What are the essential processes that I should retain in my start up?? Thanks for the trouble.

Let me explain it for you. first go to Start Button located at your taskbar Run Type msconfig Press OK or hit Enter. this will show you System Configuration Utility Windows Go To Last Tab which will be the startup tab. Here comes the critical Part of the process now you want to know which software do you need to start at OS starting. i give you some example like you should start your anti virus program, (I keep Turn on only my anti virus) at start up window you can disable all, they will be not make any problem while starting OS but it can disable some essential software like anti virus. In startup tab, you may see two columns one Command and one location. you find out which one is for your anti virus you may check that. or what else you want to start with your OS. I hope i have explained enough for you. if you still have any kinda confusion then feel free to contact me. Thanks & Regards, Happy Mylotting

I never bothered about my startup items because I did not need to do anything upon booting up. I did find that when I needed something to run as soon as the pc boots up I should include them at the startup folder. I just dragged the shortcut to the folder and they start as soon as the pc starts. Cheers!!

Use Win+R to run the msconfig command. Then go to the startup tab. You can choose the processes you wanna start with. However, if you are not what the processes really are, don't touch them. Otherwise your computer might not start rightly. Be careful and good luck. hah~
