My digital camera fails me.

My digital camera has accompanied me on many trips over the past years. It still shows clear pictures taken on my last trip to taiwan, but to my surprise, when I want to use it to keep some document file, it failed me. The camera cannot snap, the frame only showing longitudinal stripes of colors. Any friend could tell me how to recover, or i must go to the sony service to change some part? Does it worth of it? Thanks a lot in advance.
