I'm a green hand at ebay and i just paid for a couple of items. they say international shipping takes up to 6 weeks. so i feel a little worried that what if paypal pay the money to the seller while i haven't received my items. and i see there are some people complaining that they meet problems like item missing or never received. have you ?

As a buyer you are protected under Paypal, if you do not receive an item all you do is go into paypal and file a dispute. Paypal will then take the money out of the sellers paypal account and put a hold on it until the dispute is solved. If the seller does not respond to the dispute, then you esculate the dispute to a claim and paypal will then get involved and make a ruling, and it is usually always in favor of the buyer if you did not receive your item

Paypal gives your money to the seller when you pay for something but when you file a dispute/claim they put a hold on the amount of money that you paid the seller until the dispute/claim is settled. Paypal accounts are linked to either a persons bank account or a credit card, so if there is not enough money in their paypal account they take it from the back up source. Hope this helps. I am an ebay seller and just had to go through this with someone from Italy whose package was lost in customs.

hi, lucky you, since the money in my paypal account is US dollars, i have to buy it international. besides, i don't trust local sellers from my own country, there are authentic items mixed with fake. i don't want to spend time guessing or distinguishing them. thanks. hanve a good day.

I haven't bought anything on Ebay for quite awhile, the last thing I bought was a DVD, whicjh I never received, just payed for and got nothing. I seems this seller bid it to a look of people, before just disapering.

Hi tudors...I have been buying things on ebay for about 10 years...For the most part, most people are honest..Just pay close attention to their feedback rating and read the complaints..Not all are valid but if they have a really bad rating, then dont buy from them..I tend to look for near perfect ratings although there will always be someone who will complain. In all those years, I have only had I item that I did not receive that I paid for. Once you get used to it, you will soon discover which sellers are honest. Be careful of those who have 1cent auctions and $50 for shipping.
