Mother is away from the kids

hi just wanted to ask your point of view if the mother is away and working in another country is it ok to tell her at once if the child is sick or should you wait to let the baby to be ok first before telling it to the mother. of course they dont want you to worry to much bcoz ur far away. but is it really ok to be the last to know when ur child is sick? its already a hard part for the mother to be away to her children to work hard for their future. but will it be too much to add more woriies to her?
