Stopping to smell the roses =)

It's weird, a couple of years ago, before I started my career, my aim was to shoot up the ladder. My girlfriend and I had these huge fights about how much time I was spending on work and things like that. I recently resigned and I've been on a long vacation and realized how much of myself I'd lost in the work I was doing and how different my personality was. Have you guys ever gotten that feeling, that you're walking and then suddenly you look around and everything is in slow motion and you don't know how you got there? Share your views :)

Sometimes this will happen when your just rushing through life. I like to always take a moment to smell the roses and appreciate the here and now.

Very true. What I realized that I was after these roles and was so driven that I had forgotten what it was all for. Of course we all need money but at some point you sit up and realize you've missed a few things. I don't regret it though, I learned a lot.

There is something very interesting in life. You work hard and study to get a great job but then what the purpose of having a great job and lots of money if you cannot enjoy your life. Recently when i was working i noticed that i was partying less than when i was studying. I did not have any social life. Even though i had money, i was not really happy. So i agree with you that you lose many things if you just concentrate on your work. Do not become a workaholic.
