A question about making money. Please respond

Perhaps this question is not very smart but however. I am constantly wondering about this. If you have a internet site that is visited by thousands or ten's of thousands people how do you make money from it?Who pays you.For example that Facebook guy is swimming in money and on facebook there is only a couple of ads and games so somebody must be paying him a lot of money just for having a site with a lot of members. I guess the reason I'm asking this is because I wanna know if neobux is making a lot of money for having 3mil+ members. I wish them all the best and hope to find as many neobux-es as possible
