How important do you think job satisfaction is? I ask this question as I recently had a meeting with my boss who praised me for my work this year and asked me to teach the same stage again as I had done well. I said I'd be happy to do this (which I would be) but then I suggested that she consider me for a job working in the same place but with the special needs children. She thought this was a good idea and we went on to discuss how I would get training etc in this field. I put forward some ideas which she agreed with and I left the meeting feeling very positive. For the first time in a while, I was excited about my job again. It may be important to say here that my boss is not the most approachable person in the world due to her severe mood swings!! The next day, I had to go and see her again about an unrelated thing. She then told me that she wasnt sure about puting me to work with the kids as she needed all her good teachers in class. I realise that this is a compliment but I must admit I was disappointed. However, with the unsecurity over jobs, there is no way I would leave my current post to go and do the same job elsewhere.

I think its very important. No one can survive and have a good life if their hearts are not planted on what their doing.
