can we give the debit/credit card number to verify the paypal account?

hi mylotters, to transfer a money from paypal,verified account is required.. to verify my paypal account it demands my credit/debit card no and other relevant details.. is it SAFE to provide such a confidential information to PAYPAL.. responses are appreciated.. happy mylotting..

Yes, it is safe to give that information to paypal. Double check to see that you are on the paypal secure site when you log in. The web address should start with this "https" (the "s" means secure). You can also sign up for the security key which will give you added security.

how to sign up for the security key.. is this the option given by paypal..

Yes, it is an option on paypal. Look for a tab called "security options". It is listed under that tab. You sign up for it and then paypal texts you a security code. You need to enter that pin in to sign up for the security option. Then, every time you make a transaction on paypal you are texted a new pin number that you need to enter. This will prevent someone from draining your paypal account. You can't make any more transactions on paypal without entering that pin number texted to you on your cell. The number changes every five minutes, so if anyone gets hold of it, it will be no good to them.

It's safe and I haven't had any problems with it.
