Some chopping boards especially if wooden get cut up and it's nearly impossible clean and then they get moldy. If you keep your counter very clean you can always chop on that and if its granite it won't get damaged. Hope this helps

I use a product called tough and tender I buy it online. It is absolutly safe for everyday use and it fully disenficts and deordorized all products. It even cleans teh oven! And it doesnt have a strong smell! Smells lemony! It is claimed that it even kills the hiv virus. I dont know if that is true but that is was it sais in the book I have!

The chopping board I used is made from polypropylene. Therefore after using it for cutting meat, I would wash it and sterilized it with hot water. I have two chopping boards. One for meat stuff and another for vegetables and fruits. I think it's more healthy to seperate the meat ones from the vege and fruits. But I find that pouring hot water over it is helpful as it will kill the germs from the meat.
