Yay!!! Exchange rate is down!

Canada

That may sound odd, but... I am retired and on American Social Security (fixed income). I moved to Canada six months ago. I get paid in American dollars (not really worth crap either). I receive my check tomorrow (always on the third of the month). Today the exchange rate is $1USD=$1.29CAD. I have almost a 30% raise just by living here.

I don't blame you. I'm definitely not used to snow after living in Arizona.

If you were in australia, you would get $1.56 australian for every $1 USD. It is good news for Americans wanting to come to australia. At the moment it is good for me when converting my online earnings to Australian dollar. Although it is bad news for me if I wanted to buy something that has USD price tag and I was using Australian dollars, I would have to pay more. So that I don't have to lose out too much, I would have to wait until the dollar gets stronger again or pay in U.S. dollars only.

That makes sense. I forgot to check the exchange rate for Oz, but the other day I was checking the price of a couple of my novels in an Australian book chain and was appallled that they were selling for almost twice the U.S. price (no wonder my sales suck in Australia )

It's wonderful, isn't it, Vlad? It's great to have you in Canada. With sites like MyLot and Gather also paying in American dollars, I love buying coffee on my Bankamericard. My $4.19 Mocha costs only about $3.50. I love it!!!!!!!! Now just imagine how much your TAX REFUND is going to be worth. You'll have that computer in no time, if things continue the way they're going with the dollar. For once we're on the right side of the border, when it comes to money.
