I have always questioned the validity of Cash4gold. Just seems like a scam, but then I read that Ed McMahon did a commercial for them. He has a good reputation. Could this program be legit?

it may be legit but i wouldnt risk it because whos to say they wouldnt lie and say you didnt have as many items as you did in the bag? or they may pay really low and you not find out till you got the check and then you cant get your stuff back??

I have not heard of them myself, but I normally find that if something sounds too good to be true, it normally is, so tread carefully would be my advice. Just because Ed McMahon might of did a commercial for them doesn't necessary make a program Legit, depending exactly what was said. Words can be twisted in all directions to give an impression that isn't quite true. My advice, do some more digging around before taking the leap.

It is legit, but I'm guessing that they buy your gold for well under actual market value. With the current gold price fairly substantial, I'd go as far as to say they may be paying as low as 1/5 of its value. They most likely make a pretty penny with coins as well because, since it is illegal to melt them, they will sell them for the coins value which is nearly always double its value (coins can go into the $100,000s) in gold content. As a better option, I would find a place locally that you could take your gold to sell. (And if you have coins, feel free to message me about their value!)

I saw a commercial for a company like this. Not sure if it was the same one or not, but they have a website that you can go to and watch them open your package and go threw your items. On top of that they have a tracking code that you can check into when its shipped, received, etc. I don't see how they call fool you on something like this unless they have a madstock of jewelery of all types. I would be very careful with things like that, it may be safer to go to a pawn shop if you have something that you want to get some cash for!
