I was wondering if you moms (or dads) could post your feeding schedule for your baby. I am thinking about decreasing his formula and adding more solids. Can you please tell me what you think. Thanks! 6am-6 oz. formula 10am-6 oz. formula 12pm-cereal 1pm-6 oz. formula 4pm-6 oz. formula 6pm- half a jar of stage 1 fruit (or veggie) 7pm- 6 oz. formula Sleeps through the night. Rachel

Hi rachel.I can't help you much on the feeding schedule as it's been years ago.But I do remember giving my daughter back then just a teaspoon of stage 1 gerber on the first week when she started having solids. It was just for taste and also for me to see how she will react to it.Same thing with infant cereals..After a week,I increased it to 2 teaspoons...and gradually increased it as weeks went by. By doing so,I was able to monitor how her body reacted to having solid food. Little by little, you may introduce some mashed potatoes and other soft veggies on his diet too.But it's very important for him to still have his formula on a regular basis. Hope I was able to help...Happy parenting!

The general rule of thumb is 28-32 ounces of formula per day, maximum. Our doctor had our daughter on cereal at 4 months, and at 6 months she was on cereal, fruits, veggies, and meats. Staggared to allow adjustment but she eats them all now. Her typical day is as follows: (And this is a very loose schedule as I tend to feed her when she wants it, not by schedule-so each day is different). 2am-4 oz formula 6am-4 oz formula 9am- 4 oz formula, rice & fruit 12noon 4 oz formula, rice & veggies 3pm-8 oz formula 6pm 4 oz formula, rice, veggies, meat, and fruit She's still getting up at night for a 2 am feeding, and as my husband works a 3-11 shift and we're not in bed until after 2am we don't get up until around 9am, so the 2am feeding is just before we go to bed, and one of us is waking up at 6am to give her a bottle. I'm still figuring out how to get her on our schedule like we did our son, but she's pretty insistant on her 6:30 pm bed time. Her brother was like that until around 12 months and then he'd not go to bed until around 9pm which put him on our schedule. I'm sure she'll do the same eventually and her food intake will increase to allow her more sleep time. I typically feed her about a tsp to two of each mixed together with rice/formula. Hope that helps a bit. Anora
