I always look for information about my destinations, and I like to read about about the places that I want to visit. I don't like package tours, I prefer to travel around on my own, so I always need to spend some time planning my trip. I like to read about the country I am going to visit, I especially read about the culture and about the different sights. I also try to learn some of the language, it is very useful to know some of the basic words like greetings, thank you, please, where, open, closed, toilet, entrance, exit etc. I also need to find information about hotels and transportion (the local busses, trains etc) The internet has made it a lot easier to plan your own trip, and I love planning everything on my own, because it is a challenge and because I get everything exactly the way that I want it.
