So, I just read that ADHD or kids with Impulse control issues are more likely to have gambling problems later in life. Do you think that is possible, or do you know someone like that? My son has ADHD with severe impulse control issues, should I worry?

I have never heard that before, however, none, of my kids have ADHD. My oldest son (now 20) was diagnosed with ADHD when he was younger, however, something told me that he was misdiagnosed. I kept putting off having him see a specialist to get retested thinking my child was just one heck of an active little boy. As it turns out, he was misdiagnosed. Where I do believe that some children definitely are ADHD, I do believe that a lot of doctors misdiagnose children, just to get them medicated and quieted down. My son is fine now, and actually more on the lazy side...lol. Seriously he out grew his little "hyper" stage when he was about 14...maybe 15. As far as your post, I have never heard of any direct link between gambling and ADHD. I do have several nephews that are now grown and do not have any gambling problems.

I don't think that you have anything to worry about. I mean I was told I was adhd when I was a kid and I have a bit of an ocd (and I'm now 21 almost 22) and I don't have a gambling issue...I dont even care about it. I think it has ALOT of how your child is raised, personal belief--no offense. But I'm also told that people with a gambling addiction ..its like something (some--not all) they can't help. But if that does happen, it will be later on in life and you'll deal with it when it happens...but there is ALWAYS help for anyone who needs it.
