Should alcohol and cigerettes be banned forever?

In India,In chennai smoking is already banned . The Government should ban the production itself than only they can really can done good to the people.What is good in Smoking and drinking? Nothing i wonder why they manufactured and why government as given approval. I can say one thing Government as collected lot of tax in that. Now its high time to ban both. To save people those who wont drink and smoke also. If you smoke 10 people are affect indirectly and if you drink your family suffers and drucken drive leads to accident.They both causes injuries to others and to them also. You can find in packets and bottles that smoking is inguries to health and drinking harmful to health instead people buy spoil their lifeSo at last i say that both should ban before i leave from this life Take Care

I think that it's really hard to ban it in a short time. For exemple, you can't tell UK people to use euros in 6 months. Changes need to take time. And another big issue is that there's too many people using them, and will certainly provide a big manifestation. If the people is really really angry, maybe they will boycott the whole economic system, and the unemployement will raise (due to those who produce, those who cut, those who make, etc...). I think that the only way to do this is, first, tell the people, let them understand that it's bad for the health to smoke and drink, and then help them to change, to stop, maybe they'll even influence those who they know who smokes/drinks, and the finally step is to slow down, and finally stop all the production.

Sugar kills also, should it be banned? I have free will and I do not smoke and drink once in awhile, and I do not want anyome telling me I CAN NOT. It is my choice.

I agree, these two things should be banned permenantly. I also think the government should implement something to encourage people to stop drinking and quit smoking. They are slowly killing people, I don't understand why people still go for it... But if you ask me, I will say YES, BAN it forever!
