I would like to hear from those of you who have "national health care" in your country. What are the good and or bad points about it? American politicians are trying to bring it about here, and I've heard that other countries are not getting good care, because of the governmental control. Please respond, and thank you for your information.

You already have a system of social medicine in America, in the form of Medicaid. The only difference between America and countries with full socialize medicine is the amount of people it covers. Americans spend a lot of their health care dollar on profit and administration with no better outcome. For example you spend twice as much on health care than Canada yet measurable outcomes like infant mortality and life expectancy are woefully behind Canada. I have heard of a lot of the scare stories about managed health care in America that I am surprised you fight so hard to keep private companies in business when they tend to make so much money while providing mediocre service. Yes, if you are rich or have an in with the health care system you have some of the most advanced health care in the world, but it is not much good if you are not covered or rich enough to afford it. There are lots of defects in the Canadian system, but I never have to worry about losing my house because I have to pay hospital bills.
