Truck Drivers Get The Shaft?

I drove a tractor trailer for about 2 years before I realized that Truck driver get the shaft. Everyone thinks that truck drivers make all kinds of money.Well they really do not not if you break it down to a regular Job. Buy that i mean 40 hours a week. When i was a truck driver I never seen a regular 40 hour week.Usually the weeks were 70 to 80 hours. After ten hours straight driving if you were lucky you shut down for 8 hour but most of the time you just keep driving till you reach your destination.When I was a truck driver it was my life that was all you did. You drove your truck from point a to point b. The pay looked good at the end of the week but if you do the math it is only a bought $8.00 a hour.So in my opinion truck drivers get the shaft. What do you think?
