Francis Magalona, the Pinoy Master Rapper, died yesterday at the age of 44. I only got to know his songs just recently when my boss played his songs here in the office and after that I became an instant fan. I loved his songs " Ito ang Gusto ko" and "Nilamon ng Sistema" but I loved "Kaleidescope World" since I was young. Hearing those two songs, reflecting on the lyrics, as I said I became or must I say that I became a fan once again. After hearing the news yesterday I realized that Francis M made a difference in my life through his songs. At this moment that all we care about is our own problems, our own world I realized that we should in our own way still be nationalistic. Francis lived his 44 years loving his country and I think we should also. Watching the tributes to him I realized that he spent his life loving his country, enjoying every moment of his life, his life well lived but his memories will be forever in Filipino's hearts through his songs. And the fact that I'm still alive means I should start to act now for our country in my own way just as Francis M did.

well said... yeah I feel sorry for the loss, and I just can't believe how young he is and how sudden it happened. who would've expected that? everyone , or maybe not everyone but most people really thought he was doing great fighting his health problems and all that. I guess you can never predict your life and you may never know when you're gonna be next to be taken....

I realized that too. I was shocked because I thought his medications were doing well and I remembered that He went back to his show. After seeing his blog yesterday I realized that he lived his life well and really made a difference.

All the tributes given to Francis M is really overwhelming. Such a life well lived and lived with purpose. For me FRancis M stands for a man who spent his life loving his country.
