LCD and Platinum

There were two popular TV set on the market, LCD and Platinum. Which is better, and why on your personal opinion? What makes either one better than other? Give me some guide here please?

I am not sure yet because I have neither tv yet. I am leaning toward the LCD because are heard they last longer but again I am not sure because I have not brought a new tv in awhile. I guess I am old school a little still since I have the same TV for about 5 years. I look at it this way older can be better sometimes and I have cable so I do not have to worry about channels coming in or anything like that. Thanks for your discussion and happy mylotting to you.
