I started this discussion because one of my friends started a discussion regarding having wild animals as pets and what can happen when they go wild. I watched the special on Sigfried and Roy last night that 20/20 did who else saw the special? For those of you who do not know Sigfried and Roy are couple of men who have been doing magic together for 45 years. They met on a cruise ship and have been an act together ever since. They started doing their act with cheetahs that Roy had as pets when they met on the cruise ship. They are based out of Las Veges and the famous Treasure Island Hotel was build to hold their act. I knew their act was based out of the Treasure Island Hotel but I did not know it was build for them to preform their act for all times. Five years ago Roy had some kind of an accident with one of this tigers, did the tiger attack him or did he have a stroke and the tiger try to drag him off stage to protect him no one knows. It ended a great career for the two performers. I watched the special because I wanted to know how the two men are doing now. I have been a fan of them and love what they have done for the breed of white tiger. Years ago I was in Vegas and had the time to see their show but we did not have the money to buy the tickets. They where $75 a ticket, If my husband would have said “honey you go by your self and see the show” I think I would have. I kept going back to the viewing area of the white tigers and watching them. What touched me the most was when they where talking about Sigfried and the things he went though after his partner had his strokes. I know how hard it is to have a loved one go through something like that. My hubby had a stroke 5 years ago and I had such traumatic stress disorder from the whole thing. I still had to work, I still had to hold the family together, I still had to carry the load. I am still handling the whole load when it comes to making all the decisions for the household. I am doing more than I ever had to do before the stroke. Now five years after the end of the two men's careers they put on one 10 minute show with great difficulty to Roy. Roy's disabilities are extensive and he cannot hardly walk nor does he talk well. He did a great 10 minute show because of his disabilities and you can tell he gave all that he could give for that show. The show was a goodbye to preforming and most importantly it was to raise money for a brain hospital that is being build in Vegas. My questions are: Do you like Sigfried and Roy? Did you watch the show last night on 20/20.

i somehow missed the show but then i love wild animals and do admire them from afar off, mostly in a zoo.i,once saw a live movie ,where the woman raised a lion cub.it used to live on milk and veggies and the owners used to give him meat from time to time.but one day it accidendently tasted blood and that turned hin into a wild animal(from the gentle animal,he was)

That is why they are called wild animals. In an past interview Roy did say he knows the lions and tigers where wild animals and with one sweep of a claw he could be decapitated. Well he almost was! The show was well done and I am glad I watched it.

Hey tea! Yes! I watched it and was debating about starting a discussion right after I watched it last night! But, I didn't and was very disturbed when I was watching it. I was so worried that Roy wasn't going to be able to make it through the performance. I was on edge the whole time while I watched. My girlfriend felt the same way. I have been a fan of Sigfried & Roy for many years too and I adored them and their beautiful white tigers! I was always amazed at the way Roy was able to interact with the animals as if he were one of them and they treated him the same. I remember when the accident happened and how upset I was to hear about the extent of the injuries and how hard he has been fighting to regain his strength and make to recover. I was so happy to see how well he is doing and to see him back with Sigfried again doing what they both love! And even though it was a bit painful to watch he did make it through the performance and then to find out that the beautiful white tiger on stage with them was Montecore, the tiger who was blamed for Roy's injuries! That made the performance even more special knowing that Sigfried & Roy and Montecore were still able to perform for one more time!

When I watched their performance I had tears in my eyes. I was so proud for both of the men. I am glad they did it to raise money. I did love seeing who was in the audience also. I feel like writing to Sigfried and letting him know he is not along. I know how hard it is to be a care giver. I also would like to send a note to Roy for all of his hard work and to keep going.
