I feel that it's only common courtesy to inquire and pass along information about a caller. I don't mind being asked who I am, in fact, most of the time I identify myself before being asked. When my wife answers the phone and it's for me, she will find out who it is and then tell me before handing me the telephone.

Hello wondericequeen,
When I was a teenager, I always heard this from my father. He always asked me whenever I got a call and as for me, I felt so scared if the call was from a man! When I got married a few years back, it is my husband. Whenever my handphone rings, he will ask me immediately who is calling. Well, this time I have nothing to hide. I will just let him know whoever is calling me. I get used to it that I will inform him without being asked sometimes...

My parents always ask me about that, which shows they love and care for me.
