Do you set budget before you go shopping at the mall?

Some girls I noticed that they never set a limited budget before they go shopping in the mall. For instance, there is a girl I knew, she loves to go to shopping. She would grab anything that she seems to like to have, and won't consider the money she is going to spend. At the end of the month, there was a big bill on the credit card. I think that is not worth it. Because she some piece of clothing item she only wear for a couple of times. They are no different from other retailer stores, except they have brand name on it, like "BeBe", "Chanel", etc.... Would you like to set a budget before you going to shopping on those expensive stores in the mall?

I do.. i don't want to spend too much on things that aren't really necessary.. since i moved out from my parents house, i've learned how to be practical in so many ways.. before i used to spend PHP 500-1000 a day on shopping but now? i don't.. with the global recession, i don't think it's practical to buy expensive clothes, bags, shoes and other stuffs..

never ! no budget at all. i just take my credit card and begin my long hour shopping. in most cases, don't have a target at all, don't know what to buy, just wander around and find out what i can buy.

Being a "starving artist" has turned me into somewhat a penny pincher. Although I am able to splurge occasionally, I am just not the type who would ever want to spend more money than absolutely necessary. I have had a maximum amount that I am willing to spend since I was about twelve years old it seems, and I've always been very disciplined about not going over... I have always been a saver like that. The way I look at it, the less I spend on things that don't really matter, the more I have saved to spend on things that really are important to me. As for the mall, I don't shop at the mall very often; I go to stores through services like MyPoints - I can at least earn gift cards for the shopping there. But I do set budgets for shopping not just at the mall but for shopping in general.

Surely ,i have the habit to set the budget before i go shopping .Besides ,I don't like to go shopping randomly .I will list all the item necessary on a paper ,then i can select all the item with a purpose efficiently.

I do have budget in going to the mall especially that I am now a mother. I experienced having this large amount of bill in my card and I just end up paying month by month. So, I just decided not to have my shoppings especially during this time.

yes i really do since the time i have learned to buy things for myself. cause i think that without budgeting specially for those people like me who does not earn enough we want to make sure that there are still some enough money left for us to use in other things. and so when i am going to busy something a make a list and make sure that i am going to buy only those things or else i will just substitute one grocery with another if i think i need to buy another grocery. cause i don't or can't afford to over budget with my limited income. it is not really fun to buy things in a limited budget. sometimes i really wish that i am going to buy without thinking too much of my budget. if only i have lots of money to do so so that i will not feel th is pressure of cutting back on expenses.

Hi, I will set a budget before I go shopping at the mall as I am still spending my parent's money and I don't own a credit card. Its better to have good money management concept than to regret about your own bad spending habit in the future. I am not a fan of branded goods so I would not spend too much on them.

It is a very good idea so she won't over spend money but I think it would be very hard for me to do that. I am not a cray shopper but I do buy thing s when I want to buy :-p

I dont set a budget for malling before, that was 3 years ago. I go and grab stuff that i want, sky is the limit sometimes. Clothes, make ups, display items, shoes, i dont mind as long as my credit card can still handle the bills. I dont even think of bills to pay, i only think of my own happiness purchasing items. But that was changed, i learned a lot in life after suffering from financial crisis. Its so hard that time because i have to prioritize other things like medicines and second priority is paying bills. Right now, i am happy with the lessons i learned. Its no good if we dont set a budget for our expenditures. We have to think that someday crisis will time and we need to save for the rainy days as they say. Lets save a little. Happy mylotting! and Hug to all

especially this time of crisis we should only set are budget to the things that we really need most. like now i seldom go to malls because it will just cost me more. my budget goes into fud because thats the basic that we needs. clothes i dint go out that much so i dont need it. we should set r budget if we go out and buy only the most important that we need as of the moment.

hehehe no i never set any budget when i go for shopping..because if i do it, i tend to break that budget and shop beyond it.so i never tend to set up the budget for shopping. but i dont buy whatever i see and like it. but i buy what i decided for. and if see something in it similar but higher price and good one i surely buy it..but never extend to some limits.

Blessed is this your friend who can not afford to set a limit on purchases. Of course I have a limit!especially with the crisis that is now all over the world, we can not afford this luxury more.

I do set a budget and never ever take my credit card with me to shopping as that would make me buy above my target...even without the credit card, the amount goes quite beyond the set target...but, at least i have the satisfaction of shopping

Yup, I usually set a budget, plus a list of the items to get. Else I will go amok and grab anything that takes my fancy...and end up with things I don't really need.

Hi, I used to be horrible at spending. I still am in many ways but working on a budget. Saving money should always be at the top of any shopper's list...that way we can take home more things!

honestly, i don't set a limit too when it comes to my shopping budget since whenever im in the mall and i find something interesting to buy, i buy it right away without checkin my budget..as long as i have money to spend then i buy..the only limit is when i run out of money..lol!..^^

I don't set an overall budget, but I definitely have my upper limits per item. Like, I wouldn't spend more than $40 for a shirt, for example. I feel like I'm a pretty thrifty person anyway, so I really don't have a problem with spending an outrageous amount of money on a shopping trip.

Yeah.. I learned to budget when i moved from my parents.. i love shopping but i dont spend so much for just ONE item... BUT if it's something that i really want NOW, i break my budget, hehehe... i'm still a wise shopper tho..,
