This photo is of a house plant I have that I love a lot. I've had it a few years and still have no idea what the name of it is. It is like an ivy sort of. The stems grow downward with the same type of leaf growth but in an upward motion like a standing plant not an ivy. It also has root like appendages on these extended growths/shoots etc. Can you tell me the name/variety/species of this plant please? Do you have any unidentified houseplants in your house/apartment? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

tyc415 kind of beat me to it....that's one of many types of elephant ear plants also known as Angel Wings. Here's a page all about them including photos http://www.flowers.vg/flowers/elephantears.htm You need to be careful with that plant as it's considered one of many that is toxic to pets..Here's a long listing of plants that are toxic to pets http://www.sniksnak.com/plants-toxic.html {NOT referral links but links about plants}

Looks to me like it belongs to the Philodendron family. http://www.denverplants.com/foliage/html/philo_ppr.htm If not it's something very similar.

Had to look this up AGB as I am not great with plants of any sort! My Gran has something similar and this is the type of plant she has - bu thers look more like yours than the picture in the link does - so maybe it is a specific type of phile whatever it is! lol http://www.gflora.com/index.php?cmd=genus_body&genus_id=46 Could well be wrong though as I am not that green fingered! lol xxx

It's in the same family as philodendrons, diefenbachias, peace lilies... common names for your plant are elphant ear, arrowhead or goosefoot plant. So, everybody's right, and you can call it anything you want. (Personally, I like to call unidentified things Fred.)

My mother used to have one of those plants and I can't think of what it is called. It looks sort of like it would be in the elephant ear type of plant. I know my mother's was very pretty just like yours. Unless they have the little name tag on them I don't know what they are. haha

Oh, boy!!! I love questions like this, and once I am out of my e mail, I will rush over and look at the pictures. Since this question is three weeks old, I am sure you will already know, but I love to test myself. I have lots of reference books about plants.

Hi Grandpa Bob! Sorry dear friend, can't help you on that. We do have a lot of plants and most of which I really don't know the name. LOL! I usually ask my husband which one is which. I know all the orchids and all our flowering plants but not with the other type of plants. Take care and blessings to you! lovelots..faith
