I've seen it briefly before but today I really saw how it works. It's cool, but my instrument is keyboards. So is there a keyboard hero, or piano hero?

There's an old game called Beatmania. It's set up more like a keyboard. You can scour the net and download free copies of Beatmania98 today. (I think it was BM98... I can't remember it's been so long since I played it). There's no other musical game on consoles that uses a keyboard setup. Guitar Hero World Tour includes guitars, drums and singing and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat uses bongos... but no keyboards sorry heh.

I've been thinking about that same thing lately. I have Rock Band and love playing so many of my favorite songs. I started to realize a lot of great songs wouldn't ever be on a game like that because they rely so much on piano. It would be cool to integrate a keyboard into a game like Rock Band. There would be a lot of good song possibilities.

I've played Rock Band once or twice - (I'm a piano player above everything). I agree - it would be cool to have a keyboard for Rock Band where the notes didn't matter, but just make it similar to how the guitar works - hear and 'play' the piano rhythm on the keys disregarding the pitches. I think it would be a great way to get kids interested in playing real piano.

short answer... no. honestly, i think a keyboard hero would be too complicated for the casual gamer to pick up and play. in my opinion, piano is more of a complex instrument than anything offered in the guitar hero and rock band games and as such, wouldn't translate well over to a video game =\
