"Shut up your mouth", has become a common phrase for every person. Earlier those words will be spoken by only the persons who are tensed. But, nowadays, it became a common word, even a small children speaks these words. It became a common word nowadays. How many times you speak this Phrase, "Shut up your Mouth"? Will you speak those words in your normal state or you only use when you are tensed?

I do tell my kids to shut their mouths whenever they fight and I can't tolerate their arguments. And I have to be their referee whenever they do argue. But before I do get very much irritated, I always tell myself to shut up and relax. Though most of the times, even if I do tell myself to shut up, my kids' arguments would always irritate me.

I seldom say this phrase coz I still think it's kinda impolite though it's becoming a common word. Sometimes I say it to bf for a joke and he can sense the kidding, not seriously. And I say "shut up" instead of shut up yr mouth. See, it's short and carrying no tense feeling. I hear it often. It's really bad when ppl arguing and then no one agrees with each other and then this phrase pop out.

I don't say these words to someone who isn't my closed friend in normal state as it sounds very rue. I would rather ask the person to please be quite for sometime. I use this phrase only while joking with my college friends or while having a serious fight with my brother. Its true children are picking up such phrases very quickly nowadays and hardly anybody guides them thinking its cool they are speaking English! What's the children fault if they listen to songs like "Shut up and Bounce" whole day in all the channels! Have a nice day!

;) but everyone now is tense. with the world experiencing financial crisis, "shut up your mouth" acutally evolved now to "shut it." it saves time.
