I usually throw the food away if it reaches its expiration date. I don't want to have a bad stomach. They'll say that its a waste of money but I can't really afford to have me hospitalized just because I ate expired food. It's better to be on the safe side than risk getting myself harm.

I'm kinda obedient, so expiry date is a big deal to me. I believe expiry date is our guide on the lifespan of the products. So if it's already beyond that, chances are the products are no longer good.

I don't pay attention to expiration dates very much and I think I should. The dates are there for a reason. There are some times when the products are used up immediately in my house and there are other times when they sit there for months. Only then do we look at the dates and make a decision to throw out the old and open a new one. I know some people who read expiration dates when shopping which I know I should also but I don't. I'm usually trying to get in and out of the store as quickly as possible that reading the labels is not a high priority...

It's OK with me if the cookies expire a week or so but with dairy products I would just throw them away.

No, I don't. I usually keep it another 3 days. If the cat still eats it, it is good. The stores also want to make money, that is why the expired date is usually to fast. The faster you through out your food, the more food you need to buy. The more the stores earn money. Take care.

I don't, because i buy it before expired date and that food seems not real date for expired. I will check it, i think with expired date: it make my stomach not getting well. Do you know what like expiry date for food, it taste like soap. I have eat food on expired date for 2 weeks, and i don't stop go to bathroom around 2 hours.

Some products are good many weeks after the expiration date. I have had items that haven't even reached the expiration date go bad, or have brought them home from the store that have not been good. I have also been able to keep milk longer than the expiration date. I think a lot of whether a product is fresh or not is how long it remains on the shelf at the store.
