Sun shine and dog

hello savypat i hear ya about dogs acting like that. lol my dog, Doughnut, she is the same way about laying out in the sun, and i do not know how that she handles getting so hot like that either, because she has solid black fur, except for the parts of it that are turning grey these days. lol but, Doughnut loves her bubble bath's and she loves to go outside and play in the snow. that is, when that we get any. lol it is so funny when that it does snow, she will stand at the door for a minute to let it sink in that that is snow that she sees instead of rain, and then it must be ok to go out in it. lol dogs are so funny. take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

That's cute, thank for the post. My dog likes to lay in the sunshine too. Preferably with a stick, of course. Today she got real hot and started panting. at this point she will seek shade. She is a Yorkie and they can not handle the heat that well as well as the cold but she sure likes the sunshine. Often if I can not find her, I check the sunny bedrooms and there she is, basking in the rays. On sunny days when we are in the park she gets very goofy, rolls on her back and wiggles back and forth with her head back, mouth open and looks as if she is smiling, I must say. This crazy dog likes the snow and loves to chase snow balls to catch and eat. As for the rain, she will be all geared up to go for a walk but open the door, she sees wet and she immediately turns and b-lines back inside. Funny. I am not sure if there is such thing as a dog that does like to have a bath.

I'm always amazed by how long my dog will "hold it" on a rainy day! He's half Lab and Labs usually love the water! Not Him! He prefers snow! (He's half huskey)

yeah, my pups (mini german schnauzers) follow the sun thru the room all day - it's so funny to see how they both squish into the sunny spot on the floor, bed, or couch (depending on the time of day). sometimes i stop & join 'em too - feels pretty nice! those dogs know what they're doing!

I have a blue tic hound who loves to sleep in the sun on my bed. He isn't a fan on snow or rain either and is a huge baby when it comes to storms with thunder and lightening. He is a big sucky when it comes to bathes or water being put on him, he will do all he can to avoid it. When I try to bathe him he will jump out of the tub if he can and run through the house to get away from me, he can see it in my face when I'm going to give him and bath and gets mad before I even start the water or anything!
