Why is the media in United States so pessimistic?

Well, my son says that "bad news is what sells." He is a professional journalist, by the way. Why is that any good news comes with a disclaimer. For example, yesterday the Stock markets went way up. The evening news, the online news were all like: "Is it going to stick?" or "Don't get excited, we are not even close to the botton."

i think your son is right because that is what sells. i know we as a society tend to be facinated by someone elses troubles (so it would seem). i dont know why we are like that, but we are.

A little drop of positivism goes miles. The world needs to move on and get better, not spin wheels on the mud of negativism!
