is falling in love by the internet a smart thing to do

is loving of two people, who have never met each other, who dont know anything real about each other, by the internet a good thing to practice.it may end up something horrible also.i mean that when two people fall in love by only chatting or having a video conference, do they make a smart decision? they never know the real personality of the latter.
is it a smart thing to do?

I think you can get to like someone on the internet but I am not sure the chemistry of real emotional love works until you actually meet...I know of three couple who met on the internet and have wonderful reklationships but they all took their time so it does work..
