If the defination of sound is "vibrations against an eardrum" then if the tree falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it does it make a sound?

Nice question. I do not agreed to the definition of sound. I do not feel its complete definition of sound. There are lots of sounds witch do not reach to the eardrum. But yet they are sounds. According to me sound has physical existance and it does not require it to reach to the eardrum for its existance. There are so many other effects sound has witch can be considered as its evidances of existance.
