as many of us know, we are facing an economic crisis in which the education system has faced many funding cuts. schools face the decisions of either buying new text books or keeping teachers teaching children. my public high school faces the decision of laying off eight teachers and several other administrators. today is pink slip friday, a day to protest the event of laying off teachers. although i did not wear pink (because i dont have any pink clothes), i am a strong advocate for protecting teacher's jobs

im glad to hear someone thinks teachers deserve to be protected. according to the media, its the teachers fault that the children are the way they are now, not the parents whose responsibility it actually is!! im a primary teacher in scotland and the cuts are going to affect us badly. we are going to lose many of our pupil support assistants, already inadequate budgets are to be cut even further, etc etc etc. it is totally unfair of the government to expect us to continue teaching to the same standard when resources have been cut so far. thanks for your support!!

well i certainly believe that if we cut back too much onto education, once we are out of this recession/depression, we wont have competent leaders to take charge. thank you for your response!
