Hi Billgatexp!Having sickle cell aneamia is no stigma.Do you mean to say thaat the girl who has it has no right to love and marry? The disease is very hard to live with and the offsprings born will have 50% chance of having the disease. They can adopt children.Let then take the risk if they are willing to.I think as a friend you should support him in such a testing time.

i am not saying she can't marry. My point is , she ought to marry someone whose genotype is AA, in that stance they are prone to give birth to sickle cell free children. dont you think so?

Hi! I'm sorry I really wanted to give my opinion about this but I don't understand what AS or genotype is... Can you give me an insight as to why this is such a big deal in a relationship? Is it hazardous to one's health? I hope to hear from you soon!

It is better to ask your friend to consult this with a physician to know the possible outcomes and weigh his decision. We have to accept his love for that girl and help him to come out successful overcoming the issue.Cheers!
