A friend of mine, her sister was asked, and she is going to go on the show. Could you live with a total stranger, in a strange house, strange town, etc? I think one would have to be crazy to even want to do that. You may also have to discipline someone else's kids! My answer is no!

Yes, at times I'm sure it would really make one thankful for what they do have!

I agree. Reality TV has become so outrageous.

Actually I contact to be on wife swap. The producer saw my frugal living blog and contacted me in regards to it. I would be going to some rich folks home and a rich housewife would come to my house... and we would get paid $20k. No way. I think the show is one of those reality shows that tend to make people look worse than they are actually are. I would never have my children on tv.

That was going to be my next question. Does anyone know how much they get paid? I have never watched a full episode.

There is no way I would go on Wife Swap. I like to watch it, but I will never sign up to be on it. I would think it is embarrising for all of USA to see my home the way it is. Not me, no way.

My husband and I watch that show and wonder why anyone would want to do that. I guess the couples that sign up are looking for suggestions and ways to improve their own behavior by getting another perspective (one that is usually polar opposite of theirs). I can understand the concept, but it's just so public by being on national television. I could never do that. Counseling would be much easier.

Counciling would definitely be easier. You'd have to be a very outgoing person and speak your mind to live with a person whom you have never met.

Never, its the pressure of today's complicated lives thats driving people crazy and I believe its a sort of psychological disorder only when people do such things. If you argue that all rules & ethics have been made by Man only & he has all rights to make new ones and discard old ones, then even a Murder can be justified, a War can be justified, a Rape too can be justified.. infact everything which is a moral turpitude can be justified by looking it from a radical perspective which would let us believe that these are all nuthing but wrong in our perceptions only.

No I wouldn't because I don't want some other lady telling my kids what to do.
