Have you felt that people not respecting you. Have felt that people take you for granted. During your school days , work life or your own life at home do people around you appreciate you? I was just wondering has many people were tend to quite jobs and quit schools even during hard times. Do you let such things get to you?

sometimes i do feel that i'm taken for granted. people want me to do something for them but when it's my turn to ask them for a favour...hah. my boss keeps taking me for granted too. if it happens for just a few times i could handle it but if it happens way too many times i'll feel mad and want to explode haha!

Meditate or leave your job haha. Oh thats life. I think its part of a human nature to take things for granted. I think we all do it.

My entire family takes me for granted. If I wasn't around no one would have clean clothes, clean dishes, food wouldn't even be fixed. And NO ONE helps me at all.... I'm taking care of 7 people. I've often wished I would get sick enough to have to go into the hospital for a few days just so I could get a vacation and the rest of my family could get a clue how much I do.

Yeah i think you found a solution to your problem. Sometimes people need to learn it the hard way.

Hello there! I feel that way sometimes. It is as if I am a doormat that people just walk through. And when I do something great for them, they don't appreciate it. It's like it is not enough for them. At school I also feel that way. But until now I never gave up. I want to prove myself that I am not a pushover.

Standup and fight with what u believe in. But also be smart about it. Sometimes letting people think that you are weak can turn out to be your advantage to do greatness.

I do feel that way sometimes... Like the other day I was buying something from the market and the saleslady there just ignore me after calling her attention a few times. It's not like she was doing anything, she was just there in the counter. So I just said 'nice talking to you' and moved to the next stall.

The last time I felt that way was a couple of years ago, when I was stationed in Hsin Chu, Taiwan working on a company project. I don't speak Chinese, and most of my co-workers there don't speak English either, so communication was really hard. We have daily meetings discussing technical stuffs about the project, and I'm not the type to just sit around and let people discuss and resolve the problem at hand. Naturally I want to contribute, but the language barrier was just too much to overcome, and they all speak in Chinese while discussing things. They didn't call me back to attend the meetings the rest of the way, and I just felt really bad. I don't think I've ever felt that bad ever in my entire career, but I've moved on and have recovered to be stronger and better.

I was in taiwan before, i can understand how you feel. But sometimes things like this can open your mind to a better understanding on how important it is to learn about other cultures and languages. By the way congrats on your recovery.

Yep, there were times that Ive felt that and I think almost all people in the world feel that way at least once sometime in their lives. I think its just a part of life. However, I wont be quitting anything just because of a fleeting feeling. Id still choose real things, my relationships and connections with other people are far more important than a selfish feeling. Whenever I feel that way I just let it slide and just forget about it. I focus on the finer things in life and those that I value.

I have been taken for granted all through my life! Alot of times I didn't know it! I was very naive as a child! As an adult,at times, I have been too! My parents did! My dad is still around and still does try to! Many of mu classmates from grade school through High school did too! Some of the people I have worked for have and so have boyfriends! Now a days I'm very cautious of people and have trouble trusting most people! If I don't I get used before I know it! Gullible seems to written all over me and I don't act like it!
