are good looks more important in the workplace for men and women? the research confirms that beauty gains an advantage because the doors of opportunity open more frequently researchers examine the impact of good looks in the workplace, on earnings using interviewers' ratings of respondents' physical appearance. Plain people earn less than average looking people, who earn less than the good looking. effects for men are at least as great as for women. Unattractive women have lower labor force participation rates and marry men with less human capital. Better looking people sort into occupations where beauty may be more productive; but the impact of individuals' looks is mostly independent of occupation, suggesting the existence of pure employer discrimination. Discrimination in the labor market has generated immense amounts of research by economist. In the US alone, discriminatory outcomes involving blacks, hispanics, women, linguistic minorities, physically handicapped workers, and discrimination in the labor market against yet another group are the Ugly and its obverse, possible favoritism for the beautiful. the construction of a standard of beauty or attractiveness is an expression of a belief that people failing to meet that standard are mistreated. It makes no sense to consider the role of looks in the labor market

Most of the time it is a advantage but it comes as a disadvantage when someone trying to knock you off, like holdup and r@pe especially for women.

Well, wether we like it or not, looks do matter in the workplace.Attractive men and women have an advantage over those who are not gifted physically. Favoring the attractive ones can't be considered favoritism. It's just a reality that good-looking individuals are like magnets that an employer or customer can't help but be drawn towards them...good look is a plus to those who possesses it.
