Would You Keep Your Toilet In a Drawer?

Yanko designs sure thinks it's a good idea! Oneself is a brand new bathroom fixture design that's apparently been created for the person who lives alone. The toilet, sink and shower all fold out of the wall on hinged paneling. Right into the living room. Now, I'm all for saving space, and making as many rooms multifunctional as possible. But even I can't quite wrap my head around a toilet in the living room. Even people who live alone get visitors, don't they? Some commenters have said this would be a good design for a guest room, however. It would certainly mean you wouldn't have to worry about walking in on your mother-in-law in the shower, if the shower's in her room! So what do you think? Eco-friendly space saver, or just plain bad idea?

I don't think so. The design is sound, and the plumbing is creative but fully functional.

I guess it would be a good space saver for some, some people have to live in small spaces, it would be interesting to see just what it looks like, I can't really imagine it...

You can go to www.yankodesign.com to get a look at it. It's not surprising that it comes from Japan, where small apartments are predominant. It's really an interesting idea, at the very least.

How would that work? I can't imagine something like that. I would have to see the designs for this.
