I'd like to introduce China to you,for China is the place where I was born and grow up.Because of the differences of customs and traditions, there are many interest things maybe you don't konw, and welcome to China. Have you ever heard about chopsticks which we use to have meals?Children who are 2 or 3 years old in China would learn to use chopsticks instead of spoons. In terms of food, there are various of dishes we could choose to eat,but there are also some symbolic Chinese foods we have in festivals. In Spring Festival, noodles represent a long life,Spring Rolls symbolize wealth because their shape resembles gold bar.Jiaozi, which are dumplings made of dough and different kinds of meat and vegetable fillings.Often, everyone in the family helps make Jiaozi,as old folks say this symbolizes members of the family will always be close.Yuanxiao(glutinous rice ball),or Tangyuan,is a kind of special food of the Lantern Festival, which is on the 15th of the first month of the Chinese New Year.It is a kind of dumpling made with sticky rice flour filled with stuffing. They are so delicious and I had Tangyuan at breakfast this morning. Hotpot, also called fondue,is a popular dish in the wintertime in China, where the food is cooked and served in a large communal pot.It is a good way to help you cope with the cold weather. China also has many interesting places, where you can see the ancient Chinese culture. In Beijing, there is the Imperial Palace, for merly called the Forbidden City.It is open to the public and the buildings, statues, art work, and gardens are very impressive.A short distance away is the Summer Palace, you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and scenery. The Great Wall,as you know,is the greatest man-made structure in the world.Tradition states you are not a man until you've walked on the Great Wall. Its length is more than 3,000 miles. There are also many other citys worth travelling, such as Shanghai,Xi'an,Guilin,Hainan,Hong Kong and so on. There are so many places that I couldn't write here in details one by one.For I think, the best thing is eating Chinese food with chopsticks,I'm sure you'll find it delicious and interesting. Welcome to China and good luck.

HI Fang, Thanx a lot for telling me so much about china and it's tradition. I just want to ask where were you? When each one is asking about china and it's culture, one only gets answers such as Great wall or chopstick... Once again Thanx again. HOpe to catch there..whenever I come.

I'm so glad that you are interested.I come from China and live in Huangshi,Hubei Province.Huangshi is a small town next to Wuhan, but it is beautiful. When I was young,my father often took me with him when he was on a business trip, because of this I have been to many interesting places. My mother is a chef, and she is traditional,I often learn to cook from her. That's why I know much about Chinese food and tourist resorts.
