I got this as a response from one of my discussions yesterday - I don't agree with it at all. There's a very distinct line between pets and people - one group has the capability to reason out, the other doesn't. Do you believe that "pets are people too"?

I do think we should respect and cherish animals. But animals are different from human beings. It is true that they also have feelings and can sometiems accompany us.After all, they are not man and can't be treated just as people.

Welcome to myLot! I hope to see you around more often and hopefully I'd be able to respond to one of your own discussions :)

I often hear someone on the street call their dog or cat "my sweet heart" or "my dear son" sweetly.Obviously they are treating their pets as people. Those lovely pets must be sweet company of people.I think I am able to understand why they do that, but I don't agree with that.Animal is very different from man like what Oyenkai said.

Not really. Animals can't think rational like humans do though they need care and attention like humans, maybe thats what they mean?!
