What is your favourite song??

In your "favorite singer" question, I believe I answered that my favorite artist of all time is Garth Brooks. My favorite song of all time is also one I have long been enamored by since early childhood and is - not surprisingly - by Garth Brooks. It's called "The River." It is a song of perseverance and self-discovery, comparing a dream to a river and the dreamer to the vessel that sails it. As one learns more about themselves and the meaning of their personal odyssey through their dreams, unexpected twists and turns... even challenges... may present themselves along the way and you may not end up where you initially expected. If you trust in God, however, and let Him be the guide over yourself, there is little chance that you won't end up where you were meant to be all along. It also warns against taking the easy road, putting things off, and being content with the "average," and that it is to your benefit to go for something bigger and better. The older I get and the more I pick apart the various metaphors and references in "The River," the more and more I find that it describes who I am, the journeys that I embark on and my attitude towards it all. It shares a multitude of deep thoughts in common with me, while providing faith and encouragement, and for me that is always a factor in a favorite song: one you can relate to in some way, teaches you things about yourself, and only grows on you as you get older.
