Since you're looking for away from home ideas you could try packing a lunch and going on an easy hike or a stroll through a community forest and have a picnic. Some of the best dates I've ever had were just nice long walks on a beautiful day. Things like museums and art galleries are another option if you are interested in things like that. Even if you aren't you could try going and might discover that you are interested and it would be a great bonding experience. Many are free or by donation so the cost is certainly reasonable. Also going to a park and playing Frisbee or something like that is fun and free. To me the best cheap dates - or really any dates - are the ones that allow you to really get to talk and enjoy each others' company but there are still distractions and conversation starters around to help you avoid the dreaded awkward silence!

I like a lot of those ideas. Some of my problems come in with that my man walks with a cane cause of military injury so we cant do many things that require a lot of walking and stuff so we are looking for new ideas that doesnt take a lot of walking or the long drive to one another's house even when we live at our parents homes.

Oo I like the art gallery/museum idea - that's something we haven't done! & I'll definitely check the community calendar and see if anythings going on. Thanks! :)

One of the cheapest date ideas that I can think of is renting a movie from Redbox ($1 rentals!) and cooking a nice meal together at home and then eating the meal while watching the movie together. The meal doesn't have to be elaborate or anything either. Anything simple would be OK.

These all sound great, but it seems like most of them are stay-in dates...I was looking for something that we could go out and do that wasn't too expensive. It's so hard to find! Any suggestions there?

Have you tried your local community event calendar? Some of them have free or rather cheap events going on that wouldn't cost you a whole lot to attend. Some events may be concerts, art galleries or plays. Check out your newspaper or their website, or even a website that is for your community for these events.

DVD marathon is best with candle light.. you dont need to get out of the house just rent a feel good movie and cook some popcorn. arranged the couch or bed so youll be comfortable when your watching. you can also cuddle and kiss while watching movie which you cannot do ifyour in the cinema.. LOL! you can always date in the park or in the zoo and have picnic with your packlunch.. you will feel much closeer to your partner with thiis rather than eating out in the restaurant. happy mylotting!

maybe rent a movie and order a pizza? Just a nice long drive to the middle of nowhere and a moonlit walk is sweet as long as you're having good weather. One of you could cook something special for the other
