Watch yourself when you brush your teeth?

This is the strangest thing that I noticed a couple of weeks ago. My dentist....actually the dental hygenist, gave me a new electric toothbrush a few months ago, which I have never liked before. I have found that when I stand there brushing my teeth in front of the mirror, that I do not watch myself. I do not LIKE to watch myself in the mirror and I think especially brushing my teeth! What about everyone else. Do you watch yourself in the mirror? Why or why not, if you have a reason?

I love brushing my teeth and watching myself do it. Why? I have false teeth and I love them so much. I wouldn't want the pain and expense of my own teeth ever again. Like they say I wouldn't trade my teeth for all the rice in China!!!

LOL....Grandmaof2! I hope I never get to that point, especially when I think of the money I have put into the teeth that I do have. Having a parial is bad enough! BUT, the point here was, looking at yourself, NOT at your teeth, LOL!! Thanks for your comments, just the same!! hahahaha

Yes, I do watch myself when I brush my teeth as I find it fun to watch the froth cover my whole mouth and also I like to watch my teeth. To see how white my teeth have become is also an obsession for me, so invariable I watch when I brush. Moreover, I somehow look at myself in the mirror in the morning as I brush and think of the events that are awaitiing for me in the coming hours of the day. I think it is more as a matter of habit than a necessity to watch myself when I brush.

Hi djemba! You just made me think of something, or I should say someone I think of when I brush. This guy I was with who had the whitest teeth and brushed so thoroughly!! He had a great smile, too. lol Thanks for the comments!

I am legally blind (some vision but not a lot) so I don't make it a point to watch myself, but I don't have any real problem SEEING myself either. I never understood people who said they don't like to watch themselves, or prefer not to see themselves, or won't tell the world how old they are, for that matter. What's to be insecure about? You're you, and that's all that should matter.

I have just never really liked looking at myself in a mirror, even when combing my hair, but when you are brushing your teeth a couple times a day in front of the mirror, it would naturally follow that you are looking at yourself in the mirror. I do not. I am generally looking at everything else!! lol BUT I don't have a problem telling anyone how old I am. The only time I played with that was when I taught and didn't tell the kids at school. I'm not sure why. I used to say "the same age as Mrs. Hall", who was a teacher I worked with for 28 years. She in turn would answer, "the same as Mrs. McNeil", so the kids never did get a straight answer. They just knew that we were the same age!! Thanks for your comments! I am not surprised that you would have no problem looking at yourself in a mirror!! lol
