what's the truth about piranhas?

are piranhas really dangerous? i remember a movie long, long ago about piranhas eating humans. piranhas had also been shown in kiddie cartoons as a fish biting specie. so, what's piranhas' real score?

There are some that actually cause the savagery of the Piranha,including fluctuations in water temperature, water chemistry conditions,time of marriage and the availability of adequate food is a thing which is very important for Piranha.
In order to make them calm, those factors should not be disturbed.
And I do believe that piranhas are a extremely dangerous fish.
