Hi everyone. I didn't participated in it as I forgot about it. Actually I did make a note on my desk about it a few days earlier but as on the 28, I was at my cousins place I forgot about it and went on with my usual lighting the whole day. I am feeling very much guilty about it. Did you switched of your lights in the earth hour?

yes I did and I was so touched that countries all over the world did too, the effel tower in france went dark, the coleseum in rome, the great pyramids in giza, the star on top of mount royal here in montreal, the san fransciso bridge, the opera house in austrailia just amazing how the world can co-ooperate when it wants to.

I wasn't feeling well last night and actually went to bed right after dinner, so yes, my lights, computer, TV and most other things were turned off last night. But, I did forget and actually got up after 9 to watch a little TV, but not until it was almost 9:30.

Hi. It is nice that you did that but to compare it with what your neighbors did wasn't the idea behind it.

i did.. i did... i've told my hubby and the children from a week ago about it.. had to 'pre-warn' them because it is during this time their favourite show is playing on tv.. but the good thing was.. the tv station showing the show also participated in earth-hour so the show was delayed to after the whole earth-hour ended, and the children didnt miss a thing..

My family participated in Earth Hour. Originally I didn't think I'd be home at that time, but we were, and I'm glad we were able to participate. I think it was a pretty cool idea! It gave my family the opportunity to bond and spend some quality time together. I think we should do this monthly! Not only would it help save the earth, but it would also help families have more bonding time!

If we don't have the lights on at night in here, it's pitch black, since we live in the basement with undergroound windows. However, with the sun shining in through the tops of the windows, we don't usually need to have a lot of light in here during the daytime. We usually have the lights off for about an hour a day, so if we didn't participate at the exact moment, we did participate somewhat.

I agree with you that the main aim was energy conservation for an hour and not the exact time. Thanks for your response.

Yeah I did, its a good way of showing how important it is to conserve energy, even just for a mere 1 hour. I hope that we don't forget to conserve energy these days because gradually all earth's resources are depleting quickly. Because of man, this once abundant resources are quickly wasted fast due to misuse and exploitation. Atleast for an hour we can show our support to promote energy conservation, and not only during earth day that we show support but everyday, like simple things like turning off the lights during the day, conserving water, proper waste disposal and cleanliness in the surroundings are simple but helpful wys of trying to conserve and maintain a good environment. Refraining from the use of freons and CFc's can help protect the environment from pollutants that destroys the ozone layer. Well if you forgot to join earth hour, don't feel guilty about it, because you can show support in protecting mother earth by practicing conservation of energy everyday and you can start that at your homes.

Actually I have not participated in it for a long time. I will graduate from college soon . We have no homework and no examination in this semester so we have more time to have fun. I attend activites for entertainment at night and on the contrary get asleep in the daylight.

haha~~~I am sorry to tell you that you might misunderstand the meaning the 'earth hour'. Actually, its mean is 'switch off your lights for one hour at night to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change'.

I know I made a huge mistake after I post my commments . As a matter of fact , I did not notice what the earth time means until I surfed websites several days before. The initial purpose of this activity is to call pepole to save the power and protect our earth. Next time I will attend positively and devote my time to the activity.

No, we didn't participate. We were babysitting my Grandbaby and I didn't feel the need to turn off the lights. We didn't have that many on tho. I don't feel guilty about it. I didn't understand the meaning of it anyways.

This is the fifth time I am saying sorry to you guys because I couldn't participate in Earth hour. One I didn't know bout it and second, I did get an email regarding this on 29th March'09. How strange, that email was asking me to put light off on 28th march09 Anyway, I did compensate for that and turned the light off from 2030 to 2130 on 29th march though!

Hi coolmailraj, good day to you my co-mylotter. Well me in our home, we participatdd in earth hour. We switch off the electricity for just one hour and i think we really save enough money. Not only that, one good thing is we help to save earth from being consumed of energy. Here in our street there so many people who participated in that earth hour and our official in the street are very proud of us. I think atleast once a month there must be an earth hour. If this program will continue for several month, we will really save a lot of energy. . . Well i guess because of that we will still participate in earth hour because of that good effect of it here in our planet earth. . . I hope in the feature people will invent a technology which no need of electrical energy so there is no need for us to consume electricity. Well that's all my response to your forum topic discussion entitled "did you participated in earth hour?". I hope my response is good enough. Happy posting and happy earning! ! ! Good luck to our earning career here in mylot. . .

Yes I did, I was at work, I work in a ciber cafe, that place where people go to surf the web and do that kind of stuff. First I called home to tell everyone to respect the earth hour, and then I closed the cafe by an entire hour. It was really fun

yes I did for about 30 minutes. Family members started to complain. My mom actually told me to turn them back on (and ii cant disobey her). So, I had to turn them off after 30 minutes. But hey! At least I got half way there. This is actually the 1st Earth Hour i've heard about, Have they just made it national this year? Idk maybe i've been living in a cave or something...
